Bribing “Conversion” in a Time of War…Is There Anything Much Lower Than That?

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

In the process of transitioning web sites, I want to start a new series that will be ongoing on the new site.  As I have said, we will be departing the Palin port and moving into broader scopes. This will sometimes require ongoing ties back to Queen Esther – as in today’s post about the antics of Franklin Graham and his neat lil company, “Samaritan’s Purse”. Referring back to her is inevitable because they did actually choose her (as unbelievable as that still remains to my rational mind), one year ago today.

My partner Alex (aka ‘dogemporer’), in the upcoming book has done extensive research and writing over the years on dominionism and religious extremism. A great deal of her “diaries” as she calls them are spread across many web sites in the blogosphere…but I am going to start re-posting portions of them with links to her entire articles on the new blog site, “godsownparty”, in an effort to bring them into one place. Her work is invaluable.

So today I am going to share an article about proselytizing in the military and the parasites that swoop in to “harvest souls” like our friend Franklin Graham – Billy Graham’s spot-on example of a prodigal son – a rich daddy’s-boy who travels the world perpetuating his father’s money da vinci hand offmulti-million dollar “souls-for-money” business. We saw Frank recently shuttling Palin, Parnell and the self-righteous Baptist from Anchorage, Alaska (Jerry Prevo), around to a couple of villages in western Alaska. They stood around the plane and had prayer group hugs on camera, and claimed their acts as altruistic in the name of Jesus.

First of all…there is nothing altruistic about these people. There is always an agenda, and that agenda is that you either convert to their game or get squashed. They need the numbers, for how else will they be able to traverse the globe in private planes, motorcycles, boats, limos – you name it spreading the ‘wurd’? They feed off those in despair like zealot parasites in the name of Jesus.

If it sounds like I am angry today it is because I am. A true American patriot, USAF graduate, former White House counsel in the Reagan Administration and my friend Mikey Weinstein and his family have been horribly harassed, threatened and terrorized because of his work to prevent these parasites from dominating faith in the military through his Military Religious Freedom Foundation. So I am compelled to speak out about these lovely dominionist ‘c’hristians and share the tangled web they weave together, including their act of military proselytizing.

Alex has already written about this connection in June 2008 between Samaritan’s Purse and military proselytizing which is included in  full article here – but below I would like to include portions of it so I can interject a few comments:

The recent incident where a Marine was recently found distributing “Bible coins” promoted by a fundamentalist “Bible church” is, sad to say, far from the first incident of overt proselytizing in Iraq.

The truth is, this sort of thing has been going on literally since Gulf War I, and ramped up in Gulf War II–and, ironically, has directly threatened the future existence of two of the oldest Christian churches in the world–churches that can literally trace their founding to one of the Twelve Apostles. Even more disturbingly, most of the worst proselytizing has been with civilian dominionist groups that target both Iraqi citizens and US military personnel.

Not the first, and not even the worst, example of “invading missionaries”

Whilst the “Bible coin” fiasco has been given considerable press (in part because of military involvement following an incident where a copy of the Quran was used for target practice), it is by no means the first or the worst example of targeting of Iraqis–including other “people of the book”–by dominionist “missionaries”.

It has been little publicized, but dominionist “missionary” groups have been in Iraq since the US government hit the ground in Gulf War II–and their activities may have in fact directly led in part to the bucket of hell that the country is in…and to US military being targeted.

One of the first groups on the ground–and one of the more notorious offenders in regard to the use of “bait and switch” evangelism, especially in regards to relief efforts–was Frank Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse (which made plans as soon as 2003 to enter the country). The SBC, the Assemblies of God, and other groups also moved in quite rapidly after Saddam Hussein’s government fell.

Samaritan’s Purse’s actions have been especially odious. Among other things, the group literally described the attempted genocide of Iraq’s Kurdish population as a “missionary opportunity”; never mind that Kurdish people are already a marginalized people and that one of the more heavily demonized religious minorities in Iraq exists among the Kurdish people (the Yezidi faith, which venerates Malek Taus as a bringer of wisdom–a being normally equated to Shaitan in traditional Islam, which has led to Yezidis being (falsely) accused of being Satanists). As it is, Samaritan’s Purse’s leader stated that Islam was a “wicked and violent” religion in such terms that even George W. Bush didn’t want to touch that statement with a 40-foot barge pole.

Frank Cross WindowOkay…It is not a stretch her to place Franklin Graham and Erik Prince (Mr. Xe formerly known as Blackwater) in the same tree house whenErik the Prince they were young and playing army. Frank actually was kown to take an automatic rifle and use it as a chain saw but shooting up the base of trees to the point of toppling them. Picture the vitriol hatred the 2 of them share in their righteous ‘c’hristianity towards Islam. An ugly and dangerous combination. Look at them – they look like twins. ‘c’hristians filled with hate. Wow!

Samaritan’s Purse also has a well-documented history of forcing people to be proselytized to as a condition of disaster aid and especially targeting children to do so–including gift boxes given to children with religious toys.

Starving, homeless, displaced children and families – suffering the horrors of war or other disasters – and here come these “people of God”, swooping in with aid but tell them they can’t have it until they have listen to the sales pitch and are “saved” before they can have food, clothing or trinket dangling before them.

This is saving souls!  This is extortion! Shame on them!

In fact, the “bait and switch” extended to adults as well; Samaritan’s Purse ended up wearing out its welcome with the Red Cross during Gulf War I (by pulling stunts where it required people to watch “The Jesus Film” to receive aid at a Jordanian refugee center) which could have gotten our soldiers in serious trouble with their host country:

Even Franklin Graham used some of these methods. According to Graham’s biography, “Rebel With a Cause,” during the last Gulf War, Samaritan’s Purse went to Jordan under the banner “Operation Desert Save” with food and aid–and showed the Jesus Film at night until the International Red Cross complained. Graham then used the Dear Abby Any Servicemen campaign to send Arabic language Scripture tracts and New Testaments into Saudi Arabia-a country he describes as “wicked”–and smuggled them past censors concerned about cultural sensitivity by using the Dear Abby postmark. The U.S. Postal Service, acting on a complaint by Dear Abby, brought the campaign to an end.

(Of Note: Samaritan’s Purse was among a number of dominionist groups (including the Assemblies front group FGBMFI) known to have funneled aid to the Contras under the guise of “aid” and conducted extensive “bait and switch” evangelism in Nicaragua)

And lest people think Samaritan’s Purse’s behavior in Iraq was an aberration–they’re reported to have targeted survivors of Hurricane Katrina in identical manner. In fact, Frank Graham explicitly saw Katrina as “God’s Judgment” on New Orleans (how many times do we have to tell these folks that Hurricane Katrina is not divine retribution, and if it were, then God must have the worst aim in the world as Bourbon Street was probably the least damaged area that Katrina hit?).

Ironically, the influx of dominionist missionaries may well have been one of the worst things to have happened to the Christian community in Iraq in modern times.

Almost from the time they arrived, dominionist groups started aggressively targeting both Moslem *and* Christian groups for conversion–including the Chaldean Catholic and Iraqi Orthodox churches, two of the longest-lived congregations in all of Christianity. Traditionally, some of the churches in Iraq literally were founded by missionary efforts of no less than St. Thomas. As in the disciple Thomas, as in one of the guys who personally knew Jesus when he was alive in Christian tradition. Yes, these are literally some of the first Christian churches ever set up, where St. Paul would have been visiting as a traveling preacher visiting established churches.

Enough is enough for the Christian community in Iraq. The head of Iraq’s largest Christian community, Patriarch Emmanuel Delly, recently scathingly attacked the evangelical Christians who have taken their crusade to Iraq since the illegal U.S. invasion of March 2003.

According to Delly, the evangelicals attract poor youths with displays of money and then “take them out in cars to have fun. Then, they take photos and send them here, to Germany, to the United States and say ‘look how many Muslims have become Christian.’”

The interesting thing is…before the dominionist missionaries came, relations between the Christian and Moslem communities in Iraq were historically quite good in modern times. There was very much a spirit of “live and let live”–groups kept to their faith, and there was little effort at trying to convert each other.

This pretty much got shot to hell by dominionist missionaries…who, in part because of their actions, are now causing one of the oldest groups in Christendom to flee their country in droves and causing them to be targeted in such numbers that the word “genocide” has been increasingly used to describe the situation.

And increasingly, our soldiers are being associated with having brought the Dominionists to Iraq by its countrymen–and, sadly, with reports of ongoing attempts at steeplejacking of the US military’s chaplaincy system (which has been frighteningly successful in the Army and Air Force; the Navy still seems to be giving a good fight), this is not necessarily inaccurate.

Thank you, Alex.

mikey-bookAnd that is exactly what Weinstein is fighting, and being persecuted for. Working to keep our military free from these ‘c’hristian cult leaders who have now invaded the chaplaincy and dominated it, leaving subordinates to be pressured into conversion under threat of insubordination and misconduct.

And because of his fight to keep religious choice free in the military, he and his family have come under the most heinous fire. Mr. Weinstein, you sir are a true patriot!

UPDATE!!  BAILIN’ PALIN BAILS AGAIN! THIS WOMAN IS UNBELIEVABLE…

Link here to Lisa Derrick’s article that was JUST posted to LaFiga Firedoglake.com.

She can’t even commit to something she is committed to!

Below is the article I put together last night before the news that she now claims to have never been invited to this shin-dig.  There ya go Sarah! Step on your own!  Let us know how that will keep working for you…what a piece of work…

She has picked another spotlight to hover under. Parental consent. It is essentially – “Fox joins Change Point and promoted by Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council”.  When I say Fox, it is the combination of her appeal to have all her “friends” tune in and act out by being loyal and faithful watchers of Glenn Beck, and her own questionable mental state that urges her to support this very unstable man.

Her appearance at this ‘event’ will get coverage. Adding to the media attraction is that another very active dominionist extremist, Star Parker,Values Voters will be there sharing the spotlight with her.  Parker is also scheduled to speak at the Family Research Council’s “Value Voters Council Summit in Washington, D.C. next month on September 18-20, 2009, and of course Palin simply can’t decide – although she is on the list as a “maybe”.

Oh boy…here they go!  Winding up to convey their message of take back America by mandating “Family Values” based on biblical origins and shoving them down our throats…

…while simultaneously absolving themselves from any wrongdoings in C Street fashion because they are the “chosen elite” and are therefore forgiven of past and future sins because they are “doing the Lord’s work”.

So getting back to tonight’s show, I guess this opportunity for Palin and Parker to test the mics at Governor Parnell’s church, is a great way to launch their sanctimonious partnership in the name of “pro-life” by pushing for a law that would require all minor females to notify their parents before seeking an abortion in the event a minor girl went in search of one – even when the pregnancy may be a result of rape/incest and put the girl in harm’s way by seeking permission.

P & P are using this for two main political messages: 1)  declare abortion illegal under any circumstance; and 2)  keep the fires stoked that Obama is a proponent of federal tax dollars going to pay for abortion in his health care reform bill…well, and in Parker’s world add that she claims abortion is a direct tool of genocide against African-Americans among other interesting claims.

And of course, the personal pandering and clambering for constant media attention always a primary factor.  While Parker is a regular mouthpiece on Fox news, and Palin is rallying her ‘friends’ in the Internet world to support Glenn Beck, they continue to command audiences whether through the media or congregations and rile up the paranoid extremists.

For those of you who have the interest, I am going to give you a tremendous amount of information below that you will learn so much from with regard to how these seemingly regional appearances link to the bigger picture of national Political Dominionism.  What I am inserting here is the raw research material provided by “dogemporer” on how this righteous duo fit into the puzzle.  You will also notice that the connections are like a spider web and each link reveals another and another and another.  But this is a glimpse of how we are able to bind them all together.   FotF=Focus on the Family; AFC=Alaska Family Council; NARasite=New Apostolic Reformation parasite;

It turns out Palin is connected with Alaskans for Parental Rights
(http://www.alaskansforparentalrights.org/) which is a front of a front
of a front of a front.  (Yes, it’s pretty much a classic “matroshka doll
front”; Alaskans for Parental Rights is a front of Alaska Family Action,
which in turn is a 501(c)4 lobbying front of Alaska Family Council
(http://www.alaskafamilycouncil.org/), which (along with (de facto if
not de jure) Family Research Council) is a Focus on the Family front
(http://www.alaskafamilycouncil.org/about_us/focus_family_assn.html
gives more details–pretty much it’s a FotF state affiliate (and
specifically a front of Citizenlink, itself a front of FotF Action,
itself the 501(c)4 lobbying wing of FotF that it set up after it
“officially” split off Family Research Council under threat of FotF
losing its tax-exempt status)–and http://www.citizenlink.org/fpc/ gives
more info on the networks nationwide).

This is actually pretty interesting, as AFC has apparently had some
disagreements with Palin regarding Supreme Court appointees
(http://www.rightwingwatch.org/category/groups/alaska-family-council).
This proves, even more, that Sarah Palin is going into “stealth and
organise” mode–Alaskans for Parental Rights is a frontgroup set up for
the sole purpose of forcing a referendum on passing a strict “parental
notification” law regarding abortions for minors similar to that in
Missouri (http://www.alaskansforparentalrights.org/about)–Missouri’s
law, of note, has only limited judicial bypass options, and it is
legally a felony for even a relative to take a minor across state lines
for purposes of obtaining an abortion in a state with friendlier
judicial bypass options.

Interestingly, another FotF frontgroup–the Alliance Defense Fund, a
group that promotes itself as being a parallel-economy “Christian
Alternative” to legit civil rights legal groups like the ACLU or
Americans United–has been doing quite a bit of damage control and
pimping of Palin
(http://www.alaskansforparentalrights.org/aggregator/sources/4 gives a
large list, almost all links pointing to Alliance Defense Fund news briefs).

parkerStar Parker…oh gods, Star Parker is just all kinds of friggin’
*speshul*.  Parker is an example of, shall we say, a “house slave” of the dominionist movement,
and in particular likes to promote the idea that abortion was meant as a
method of “back-door genocide of African-Americans”
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Parker and yes, sadly, this exact
sort of whargarbl is heavily used now as a recruitment tool by NARasite
groups in particular to recruit African-Americans).  In fact, much of
her schtick is in fact essentially the old neopentecostal “I was a
horrid horrid sinner and druggie and I had lots of abortions and then I
found God” narrative (pretty much what one can consider the “involved in
atrocities then converted” dialogue–which has literally been used for
supposed “Satanists” in the 80s during the “Satanic Panic”, is used a
lot nowadays with “former terrorists”, and has even been promoted up to
literal Godwin’s Law-invoking claims of being former Hitler Youth who
converted; yes, it is literally an honest-to-God “conversion
trope”)–her “Saved Ex-Slut” trope-story is at
http://www.christianitytoday.com/tcw/1997/julaug/7w4022.html?start=2 for
your perusal.

Parker is especially appealing to neopentes and neocons, in part,
because she claims to essentially be an ex-welfare-queen and ex-Dr.
Feelgood (which plays to a *very* nasty popular myth regarding “black
welfare queens”) and promotes “abstinence only” stuff; she operates a
group called Coalition for Urban Renewal and Education
(http://www.urbancure.org/) that in essence promotes NARasite theories
about why African-Americans are being held down (tl;dr version: they
ain’t got enough God–no matter that African-Americans are in general
some of the most solidly Evangelical Christians in the US–NARasite
neopentecostalism is relatively new in the African-American church
community, however).  Among other things, she essentially claims that
LBJ’s War on Poverty destroyed African-American culture
(http://www.talk2action.org/story/2009/3/9/93733/84075), even writing a
book called “Uncle Sam’s Plantation” promoting this.

Parker is rather well documented as having connections with FotF Action
(http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008/9/4/05840/96219) and apparently
has stumped for Palin in past; she’s pretty much one of the “rising
stars” of the political dominionist community
(www.talk2action.org

and in particular http://www.talk2action.org/story/2007/10/19/20916/994
and
http://www.talk2action.org/story/2007/9/13/17438/3915 or the promo
material on her own site at http://www.urbancure.org/starparker.asp).

In particular, Parker does seem to have NARasite linkage; she shared the
stage with David Barton of the NARasite historical-revisionist group
“Wallbuilders” (http://www.talk2action.org/story/2008/7/18/142622/634)
along with Rick Scarborough at a “Penetrating America’s Heart
Conference” held Sept. 25-27, 2000 at Encourager Church; Encourager is a
“stealth Assemblies” NARasite church with linkages to C. Peter Wagner’s
network in particular that literally operates nowadays as a de facto
“daughter” church of the infamous NARasite Brownsville A/G in Pensacola
(http://www.encouragerchurch.org/ and in particular
http://www.encouragerchurch.org/staff1.html notes how it’s essentially a
Third Wave/Joel’s Army church DIRECTLY descended from Brownsville).
More NARasite linkage (and “Assemblies NARasite” in particular) comes
from some of her advisory board members–Kenneth Blackwell (connected
with World Harvest Church in Columbus, a NARasite “Assemblies
daughter”), John Ashcroft (yes, as in the Assemblies NARasite who was
“annointed” as Attorney-General, as in the literal son of the founder of
the Assemblies frontgroup Chi Alpha), and the head of the dominionist
“Liberty Counsel” legal-harassment group
(http://www.urbancure.org/advisors.asp).

Parker serves not only as an “Uncle Tom” (or “Auntie Thomasina”) to the
African-American community but also to women; she’s linked with the
Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute, a “conservative women” think-tank
(http://www.cblpi.org/index.cfm); she’s a favourite on the whargarbl
sites Townhall (http://townhall.com/columnists/StarParker/archive.shtml)
and WorldNetDaily (http://www.wnd.com/news/archives.asp?AUTHOR_ID=219).

Her present husband (she is apparently trotted out especially as an
example of “ebony and ivory living in perfect harmony”; her husband is
white) was in seminary at a steeplejacked “Charismatic Episcopalian”
church as of 1997 (http://www.theeffectivetruth.info/testlsip.html notes
her husband is pastor of St. Michael’s Charismatic Episcopal Church.

So, long story short–this is pretty much *precisely* the crowd Palin
would be hanging around with.

Again, I know this is a lot of information, but when you see the linkages and how deep they go, you can see why we are concerned about these seemingly inocuous appearances.  These are planned and intentional to acheive specific outcomes, and IF we hear about them, it is easy to dismiss them as an “so what, she is speaking at a church – big surprise” kind of reaction.  Believe it or not I only provided a third of that email for you, but it gives you a significant amount of reference material to check out as time allows you.

Palin and Parker are both being used by the boys at the top, but their egos allow them to lap up the glory along the way.  And who are the boys at the top who are referenced in this outline by dogemporer?  James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Dave Barton, and C. Peter Wagner – just to name a few – who are all entertwined with each other and groups like Youth with a Mission =YAM who =Loren Cunningham who = The Fellowship who = The Family recently exposed by Jeff Sharlet.

Soooo…anyone in Anchorage going tonight?

Going to “AnchorTown!”

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Hickel2A new development just came up and I am heading to Anchorage on Monday.  I can’t wait!  I just got off the phone with Mrs. Hickel (Walter J. Hickel’s wife) and Tuesday the 18th will be his 90th birthday!  This is so cool because this is the Alaska I remember…where I can be on the phone with Ermalee, (Mrs. Hickel), and discuss how dangerous Sarah Palin is.

To give you a point of reference, I have to re-post this video…and I know youHickel 60s are sick of it!  But let me give you this codicil…Mrs. Hickel (and Governor Hickel) are NOT – and let me say this again – NOT – supportive of Palin, OR her spiritual advisors’ rantings.

And when this wingnut refers to the man that was “sent by God” – she was referring to Hickel, and she is distorting the reality of who this person is and what this means in relation to Alaska.

What is so cool, is that as a real Alaskan (versus ‘rell’ Alaskan as Palin would say it), I can still call the Hickels, and many more who truly created this wonderful State, and be welcomed.  There is such a  difference between those who have moved North to appreciate the offerings of the northland and those who moved there with some religious agenda.

ErmaleeFor example…when I said to Mrs. Hickel that it offends me that there is a video out there suggesting that Wally (Governor Hickel) is in any way a part of Palin’s Movement…her honest to God words were, “Oh honey, no!  He does not agree with her at all!  He did in the beginning, but not now!  Thank you!”

I can guaruntee you that what he agreed with in the beginning had to do with precieved business successes for Alaska spouted by Palin and most definitely NOT any religious views.

There was much more to that conversation, but I will fill you in after I return from Anchorage.  It is such an honor to be personally invited by Governor Walter J. Hickel and his wife, Ermalee – the old Alaska is fading and it just got started! Wally turns 90 and the state turns 50…

This is NOT the Alaska of Sarah Palin.  Hickel Book

I am so profoundly offended by the ‘immigrants’ that have moved in to Alaska and staked claim on MY state that it will be a tremendous honor to be in the company of Governor Hickel and his wife…that is what I remember, a place where you didn’t have to have a southern accent to fit in, or run around bragging about eating moose-burgers, or dress in your finest Cabela waders.  There was a way of life that existed because of the surrounding environment – not because it garners a reputation as Annie Oakley with a gun.

AND I just talked my Dad into going because he is not only one of the last few remaining cabinet members of the early days in Alaska, but he is the ONLY person to have ever been Commissioner of Public Safety …. TWICE! And let us not forget, that Walter J. Hickel was indeed Secretary of State under President Richard M. Nixon.

IMG_0006It is a privlige to know people who had their hands in the beginnings fo this young state, and to have witnessed the making of true democracy…that was based on all the errors and hiccups of the ‘lower 48′…even though for some it is still not good enough.  WHAT do they want? Honestly…this is not rhetorical…I haved lived overseas, raised in a state that had the opportunity to establish itself like no other – yet they want to raise some kind of armed insurrection!  MOVE!

I am so proud of my father…and Walter Hickel…and Jay Kertulla…Bill Ray…and a short list of people that are truly responsible for the inception of this once amazing STATE!

That’s a pic of my dad – and I am the one in the background (circa 1962), and this was in Dillingham, Alaska, where we lived…and where Dad played basketball with Todd’s dad…it is a VERY small state.  That’s all I’m sayin…

I will let this set overnight…but I am dead serious.  What DO THEY want?

“They Are Using My Old ‘Shock Troops’…” says Schaeffer

This is a GREAT article by Frank Schaeffer!

Lies, Intimidation, and the Insurance Industry: The Republicans Have Lost Their Minds

Crazy for GodBy Frank Schaeffer
Posted on August 7, 2009, Printed on August 7, 2009

http://www.religiondispatches.org/blog/politics/1749/

The Republican Old Guard are in the fix an atheist would be in if Jesus showed up and raised his mother from the dead: Their world view has just been shattered. Obama’s election has literally driven them over the edge.

Consider former congressman Dick Armey. Several far right foundations and the multitrillion dollar health-insuranceFrankindustry have teamed up with him to organize the far right foot soldiers of the Republican Party to intimidate people speaking on behalf of health-care reform. They are using my old shock troops — given that many of these folks were first energized by the Evangelical pro-life movement that my late father and I started in the 1970s. What we did to clinics they are now doing to congressmen and others speaking out for health care reform. It’s called intimidation.

Having failed at the ballot box, having watched their Fox News-organized “tea parties” fizzle, the intimidation tactics which the Republicans have embraced are being used in a well-financed, top-down orchestrated fake grass roots campaign by corporate interests to try and protect the profits of the insurance business.

Armey’s FreedomWorks is organizing against health care reform. Armey’s lobbying firm represents pharmaceutical companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb. Armey’s lobbying firm also represents the trade group for the life insurance industry. FreedomWorks is supporting the status quo at all costs. (They are also fans of fossil fuels. Armey’s lobbying firm represents Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the UAE, on energy related issues.)

Oh!  This is a good spot to interrupt Frank’s article and insert that blurb about him from my list of 123 GOP Criminals!

dick-armey-2Dick Armey Republican US RepresentativeTexas, former professor at North Texas State in Denton, anit-gay bigot has been accused by The Dallas Observer of sexually harassing at least female students.  This is the same area that Constable Larry Dale Floyd hails from.  (see his listing).

Astroturfing activities

Dick Armey’s organization, FreedomWorks was behind the creation of a fake grassroots web site called Angryrenter.com which rallies opposition to “the Obama Housing Bailout.” The site urges people to oppose bailing out mortgage companies. The site claims to represent “Renters and responsible homeowners against a government mortgage bailout.”

Michael M. Phillips, a reporter with the Wall Street Journal wrote about AngryRenter.com:

AngryRenter.com looks a bit like a digital ransom note, with irregular fonts, exclamation points and big red arrows — all emphasizing prudent renters’ outrage over a proposed government bailout for irresponsible homeowners. “It seems like America’s renters may NEVER be able to afford a home,” AngryRenter.com laments. The Web site urges like-minded tenants to let Congress feel their fury by signing an online petition. “We are millions of renters standing up for our rights!” Angry they may be, but the people behind AngryRenter.com are certainly not renters. Though it purports to be a spontaneous uprising, AngryRenter.com is actually a product of an inside-the-Beltway conservative advocacy organization led by Dick Armey, the former House majority leader, and publishing magnate Steve Forbes, a fellow Republican. It’s a fake grass-roots effort — what politicos call an AstroTurf campaign — that provides a window into the sleight-of-hand ways of Washington.[1]

Schaeffer goes on to write in his article:

Last year, the Wall Street Journal exposed FreedomWorks for building “amateur-looking” websites to promote far right interests of Armey. FreedomWorks represents a top-down, corporate-friendly approach that’s been the norm for conservative organizations for years. How do I know this is the norm? Because I used to have strategy meetings with the late Jack Kemp and Dick Army and the rest of the Republican gang about using their business ties to help finance the pro-life movement to defeat Democrats. I know this script. I helped write it.

Democratic members of Congress are being harassed by angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior at local town halls. It’s the tactic we used to follow abortion providers around their neighborhoods. “Protesters” surrounded Rep. Tim Bishop (D-NY) and forced police officers to have to escort him to his car for safety. We used to do the same to Dr. Tiller… until someone killed him.

Which sure makes me ask myself…how far will this insanity go?  Who will get hurt before this is exposed for what it really is?  This is NOT simple freedom of speech.  This is indeed organized mayhem!

How can the right stoop so low?

I used to know Dick Armey quite well. One of my sons even worked for him as an intern. I knew Armey in the context of his It's not Fascism When We Do It!being a fan of my late Evangelical Religious Right leader father Francis Schaeffer. (Back in the day when I was a right wing “pro-life” organizer who has long since quit the Republicans in disgust at their — our — descent into extremism and hate.) Armey was once a decent guy, whatever his political views. How could he stoop so low as to be organizing what amounts to America’s Brownshirts today?

I think I know what happened to him, Gingrich and the rest: They can’t compute that their white man-led conservative revolution is dead. They can’t reconcile their idea of themselves with the fact that white men like them don’t run the country any more — and never will again. To them the black president is leading a column of the “other” into their promised land. Gays, immigrants, blacks, progressives, even a female Hispanic appointed to the Supreme Court: for them this is the Apocalypse.

Conclusion: the fascist formula

Here’s the emerging American version of the fascist’s formula: combine millions of dollars of lobbyists’ money with embittered troublemakers who have a small army of not terribly bright white angry people (collected over decades through pro-life mass mailing networks) at their beck and call, ever ready to believe any myth or lie circulated by the semi literate and completely and routinely misinformed right wing — Evangelical religious underground. Then put his little mob together with the insurance companies’ big bucks.

What can be done?

It’s time that this whole shabby (and insane) business be exposed, vilified in run out of town on a rail by whatever responsible Republicans — if any — that are still in the party and who want to see the fortunes of their party revived. Republican leaders taking insurance industry money via lobbying firms and using it to organize what amounts to roving bands of thugs not only need to be exposed but thrown out of the public debate forever. They should become absolute pariahs.

It’s time to give this garbage a name: insurance-industry-funded fascism.

If there is anyone out there who can write about this with certainty and authority, it would be Frank Schaeffer…and we need to heed his words.

It is kind of like the later years of the creator of nuclear weapons, that although Oppenheimer’s scientific expertise produced the bomb, he grew increasingly uneasy over its application and destructive power. Oppenheimer became the first of a long line of antinuclear activists and scientists to protest nuclear weapons and nuclear power.

So as did Oppenheimer regret creating something so destructive, now comes Frank Schaeffer with his own regrets for co-creating a social weapon of sorts – and his words of warning.

Bush’s Call to War against Gog & Magog…

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

A reader sent me the link to this article and I will post the entire article here for your ease of access.  This is a perfect example of the Political Dominionist brain works and how frightening that is while sitting in the White House.

A French Revelation, or The Burning Bush

JAMES A. HAUGHT

Bush on a bombIncredibly, President George W. Bush told French President Jacques Chirac in early 2003 that Iraq must be invaded to thwart Gog and Magog, the Bible’s satanic agents of the Apocalypse.

Honest. This isn’t a joke. The president of the United States, in a top-secret phone call to a major European ally, asked for French troops to join American soldiers in attacking Iraq as a mission from God.

Now out of office, Chirac recounts that the American leader appealed to their “common faith” (Christianity) and told him: “Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East…. The biblical prophecies are being fulfilled…. This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people’s enemies before a New Age begins.”

This bizarre episode occurred while the White House was assembling its “coalition of the willing” to unleash the Iraq invasion. Chirac says he was boggled by Bush’s call and “wondered how someone could be so superficial and fanatical in their beliefs.”

After the 2003 call, the puzzled French leader didn’t comply with Bush’s request. Instead, his staff asked Thomas Romer, a theologian at the University of Lausanne, to analyze the weird appeal. Dr. Romer explained that the Old Testament book of Ezekiel contains two chapters (38 and 39) in which God rages against Gog and Magog, sinister and mysterious forces menacing Israel. Jehovah vows to smite them savagely, to “turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,” and slaughter them ruthlessly. In the New Testament, the mystical book of Revelation envisions Gog and Magog gathering nations for battle, “and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”

In 2007, Dr. Romer recounted Bush’s strange behavior in Lausanne University’s review, Allez Savoir. A French-language Swiss newspaper, Le Matin Dimanche, printed a sarcastic account titled: “When President George W. Bush Saw the Prophesies of the Bible Coming to Pass.” France’sLa Liberte likewise spoofed it under the headline “A Small Scoop on Bush, Chirac, God, Gog and Magog.” But other news media missed the amazing report.

Subsequently, ex-President Chirac confirmed the nutty event in a long interview with French journalist Jean-Claude Maurice, who tells the tale in his new book, Si Vous le Répétez, Je Démentirai (If You Repeat it, I Will Deny), released in March by the publisher Plon.

Oddly, mainstream media are ignoring this alarming revelation that Bush may have been half-cracked when he started his Iraq war. My own paper,The Charleston Gazette in West Virginia, is the only U.S. newspaper to report it so far. Canada’s Toronto Star recounted the story, calling it a “stranger-than-fiction disclosure … which suggests that apocalyptic fervor may have held sway within the walls of the White House.” Fortunately, online commentary sites are spreading the news, filling the press void.

The French revelation jibes with other known aspects of Bush’s renowned evangelical certitude. For example, a few months after his phone call to Chirac, Bush attended a 2003 summit in Egypt. The Palestinian foreign minister later said the American president told him he was “on a mission from God” to defeat Iraq. At that time, the White House called this claim “absurd.”

Recently, GQ magazine revealed that former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld attached warlike Bible verses and Iraq battle photos to war reports he hand-delivered to Bush. One declared: “Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.”

It’s awkward to say openly, but now-departed President Bush is a religious crackpot, an ex-drunk of small intellect who “got saved.” He never should have been entrusted with the power to start wars.

For six years, Americans really haven’t known why he launched the unnecessary Iraq attack. Official pretexts turned out to be baseless. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction after all, and wasn’t in league with terrorists, as the White House alleged. Collapse of his asserted reasons led to speculation about hidden motives: Was the invasion loosed to gain control of Iraq’s oil—or to protect Israel—or to complete Bush’s father’s vendetta against the late dictator Saddam Hussein? Nobody ever found an answer.

Now, added to the other suspicions, comes the goofy possibility that abstruse, supernatural, idiotic, laughable Bible prophecies were a factor. This casts an ominous pall over the needless war that has killed more than four thousand young Americans and cost U.S. taxpayers perhaps $1 trillion.

Xe – Formerly Known as “Blackwater”

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

It’s kinda like “The artist formerly known as Prince”…whose name was Prince.  Hey!  This guys name is Prince too!  Are they brothers?  Could be…

Erik Prince is a piece of work.  Dominionist extraordinaire.  He has taken playing army to a frightening level.  Here is a blurb about this war-mongering racist ‘c’hristian:

“America’s Holy Warriors”

Erik Prince[36] is “the secretive, mega-millionaire, right-wing Christian founder of Blackwater, the private security firm that has built a formidable mercenary force in Iraq,” Chris Hedges wrote December 31, 2006, in Truthdig.[37]

Prince “champions his company as a patriotic extension of the U.S. military. His employees, in an act as cynical as it is deceitful, take an oath of loyalty to the Constitution.[38] These mercenary units in Iraq, including Blackwater, contain some 20,000 fighters. They unleash indiscriminate and wanton violence against unarmed Iraqis, have no accountability and are beyond the reach of legitimate authority. The appearance of these paramilitary fighters, heavily armed and wearing their trademark black uniforms, patrolling the streets of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, gave us a grim taste of the future. It was a stark reminder that the tyranny we impose on others we will one day impose on ourselves,” Hedges wrote.[37]

Vigilantism is dangerous no matter who initiates it.  And Prince is one of our favorite Dominionists who believes he is called in the Great Commission to take up where the proselytizers fail.  In other words, if you don’t convert and “accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour”, learn “speaking in tongues” as a second language and claim rebirth – well – Prince and Pals will be happy to remove you from the landscape…pretty much that simple.

Jeremy Scahill is the expert on Prince and Xe and this video is Scahill being interviewed by Keith Olberman on August 4th, 2009:

This next video is Mike Papantonio of Air America describing the frightening power of this mercenary military that is immune from oversight…you really have to watch this!

And the third, an excellent introduction as to exactly WHO and WHAT Blackwater/Xe is and how the Bush Administration used them as their own personal militia to engage in activities that would never be sanctioned under the rule of law.  In their minds they are truly the “hit men” for God with a mission to “cleanse” the world of what their definition of evil is.

No special meaning indeed. The same can be said for the identity, which is a bizarre cross between theold Xeroxbrandmark and the logo for Xena: Warrior Princess. As a result, the only X this rebrand deserves is for a new identity that has gone terribly, terribly wrong. In 2007, Blackwater Worldwide, the world’s largest private security company, made the wrong kind of headlines when Blackwater contractors allegedly shot and killed 17 Iraqis in a crowded square in Baghdad. This resulted in protests, congressional inquiries and the Iraqi government refusing to allow the organization to operate in the country. And now, in an effort to improve public perception, Blackwater has changed its name to Xe (pronounced ZEE).
Organizations that change their name usually do so to “better define” what they do, or to “clarify” a shift in services, and this is often in tandem with a repositioning of services or a shift in core competencies. Anne Tyrrell, a spokeswoman for Blackwater, explained that the company was changing its name because “the idea is to define the company as what it is today and not what it used to be.”
The Blackwater name has being expunged from all of its business units: Blackwater Airships (which offers surveillance services for intelligence gathering) has become Guardian Flight Systems. Blackwater Target Systems (the unit that develops and builds targets) is now being called GSD Manufacturing, and Blackwater Lodge and Training Center has been named the U.S. Training Center.
Not everyone agrees with Tyrrell. RJ Hillhouse, a national security expert and author of the blog called The Spy Who Billed Me, said the company is “obviously trying to distance itself from their image as reckless cowboys that’s etched into the world’s mind from the…shooting.” With a new name, “there are a lot of people who probably won’t connect the dots,” she said. “In a year or two, people won’t remember that’s Blackwater.”
When asked about the name change, Robert Passikoff, president of the New York marketing research firm Brand Keys, Inc. offered this: “There’s an old saying about brands: ‘When you can’t change the product, you change the packaging,’” he said. “It’s common for companies to rename in an effort to distance themselves from bad publicity, but in Blackwater’s case, things have gotten so bad that the company had little choice but dump the brand.”
Tyrrell disagrees. She countered that Blackwater’s past was only one of several factors involved in the decision. “The company leaders came up with and considered several new names,” she said. “Xe had the best potential for brand identity but has no special meaning,” she added.
No special meaning indeed. The same can be said for the identity, which is a bizarre cross between the old Xerox brandmark and the logo for Xena: Warrior Princess. As a result, the only X this rebrand deserves is for a new identity that has gone terribly, terribly wrong.

This is another article that gives you more information about this group of “brown shirts”, as I see them and yet another ‘incident’…  http://aftermathnews.wordpress.com/2009/03/23/xe-blackwater-sued-for-drunken-killing-of-iraqi-vps-guard-and-cover-up/

And here is the web site to their actual site…http://www.xecompany.com/

And they aren’t kidding!  They truly rely on us being that stupid, that we really won’t remember…

VerbXe

  1. To block – (To fill (something) so that it is not possible to pass) or (To prevent (something or someone) from passing).
  2. To catch – (act of catching a ball).
  3. To fill – (to make full).
  4. To seal – To prevent people or vehicles from crossing (something) or (To close securely to prevent leakage).

I will close this post with that…and please tell me what your interpretation of “Xe” is.  I know I have my own thoughts.  This was certainly a thoroughly thought out choice, and I am not comfortable with the meaning.

Response to “This is NOT a CON CON!”…Geez! She doesn’t have to yell…

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

I received 2 interesting “comments” today that I am going to share with you by pasting the verbiage from Sandra Yeager’s rant at me about my posts on her letter sending out a rallying cry to “her churches”.  Below is the ‘comment’ that she posted to BOTH of my blog articles “Fellow Christians?“ and “Con Con”:

“My name is Sandra Yeager. I am the state coordinator of the We the People Foundation that drafted the church letter up for discussion. This letter was sent to my church affiliates to notify them of the Continental Congress 2009, which is being held in November to grant us all relief from any law that violates our liberty and the Constitution. The We the People Foundation has filed numerous lawsuits against our government for the past twenty years for violating the constitution. We have served the government with eighteen (18) petitions for redress for grievances since 1995, not just since the election.

A Continental Congress has only taken place once in history, in 1774. It’s time to do it again. The first one gave us our founding documents which gave us the experience of freedom like the world has never known. The next one in November of this year has the sole purpose of holding the governmental accountable to the people for their violations of the Constitution. We are reaching out to constitutional scholars all over America. Their religious status is not a qualification. These delegates will be nominated and elected by the people of their state.

As my alleged hate letter clearly states, if you know someone that is a constitutional scholar, please nominate them on the website to be a delegate. I have strict religious beliefs, as does my church. In America, that is our right. It’s called freedom of religion. I also have a right to send an email to my church affiliates about my thoughts, it’s called free speech. The same 1st amendment right allows you to scrutinize my letter. Isn’t freedom wonderful? We live in a country like none other, and we need to keep it that way. If we don’t agree, we can just disagree.

A Constitutional Convention is a convention called by members of Congress (government elected officials) to change or amend the constitution. We definitely do not want any part of that, nor are we members of Congress that would have any authority to do so. We believe our founding documents are already perfect, and us religious extremists even go as far as to say they were endowed by our Creator.

Our intentions are very well explained in this slide show presentation:

<a title=”View CC2009 is Your Civic Duty on Scribd” href=”http://www.scribd.com/doc/17599422/CC2009-is-Your-Civic-Duty” style=”margin: 12px auto 6px auto; font-family: Helvetica,Arial,Sans-serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 14px; line-height: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; -x-system-font: none; display: block; text-decoration: underline;”>CC2009 is Your Civic Duty <object codebase=”http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0″ id=”doc_414064834516605″ name=”doc_414064834516605″ classid=”clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000″ align=”middle”height=”500″ width=”100%” ><param name=”movie”value=”http://d.scribd.com/ScribdViewer.swf?document_id=17599422&access_key=key-4mkfm7ro0aavo4hiexu&page=1&version=1&viewMode=”> <param name=”quality” value=”high”> <param name=”play” value=”true”><param name=”loop” value=”true”> <param name=”scale” value=”showall”><param name=”wmode” value=”opaque”> <param name=”devicefont” value=”false”><param name=”bgcolor” value=”#ffffff”> <param name=”menu” value=”true”><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”> <param name=”allowScriptAccess” value=”always”> <param name=”salign” value=”"> <embed src=”http://d.scribd.com/ScribdViewer.swf?document_id=17599422&access_key=key-4mkfm7ro0aavo4hiexu&page=1&version=1&viewMode=” quality=”high” pluginspage=”http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer” play=”true” loop=”true” scale=”showall” wmode=”opaque” devicefont=”false” bgcolor=”#ffffff” name=”doc_414064834516605_object” menu=”true” allowfullscreen=”true” allowscriptaccess=”always” salign=”" type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” align=”middle” height=”500″ width=”100%”></embed></object>

Finally, as this letter was not sent to any of you, please realize that there was no cramming down your throat intended. I certainly hope this clears things up. THIS IS NOT A CON-CON!

In Liberty,

Sandra Yeager”

Alrrriiiighttyyy then!  Phew!  That clears it all up for me…how ’bout you???

Especially all that gobbley-gook in the middle.  Of course I had to go to my number one “go-to”, Alex and below are the emails we had discussing this clarification:

a) This is classic CYA astroturfing.
b) Despite her claims, what is being proposed is a de facto ConCon,
and the groups associated with it are uniformly dominionist and
right-wing groups linked to “Christian patriot” militias (as noted in
previous mails).
c) That crap at the end is VERY poorly formed HTML, where they tried
to link to a document on Scribd which was again a CYA attempt to make
a de facto ConCon not seeming like a ConCon.

And furthermore….

It starts out by essentially claiming the government usurped its

authority including calls for “tea parties” (common in “Christian
patriot” circles),  goes on to the “we are a republic, and not a
democracy” rant (more properly, the US as operates now IS a
representative democracy, rather than a direct democracy–up to and
including claiming the difference is that “democracy is two wolves and
a sheep voting for dinner, with a republic the sheep has a gun”),
calling for steeplejacking of government (from astroturfing city and
county council meetings to steeplejacking state political party
conventions to becoming “expert witnesses” in legislative committees
to explicit recruitment to join “Christian Patriot” militia orgs to
running for office), promotion of the wonderful “Patriot” bogosity
known as “jury nullification” (VERY widely promoted in “Christian
patriot” communities), claims straight out of Posse Comitatus
(claiming county sheriffs have more authority than the President), fun
with “State’s Rights” bogosity, claims that the government was
established as a Christian nation, Bircher claims that the entire US
government was essentially usurped by “bankers” at a “secret meeting”
in 1910 (not noted is that “bankers” has historically been a Bircher
codeword for the Jewish people)…pretty much this is the typical
“Christian Patriot” screed.

Okay…follow me on this…here is the “gobbly-gook that Sandra tried to post for us to clear things up:

As an aside, this is the document she tried to link to w/o success:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/17599422/CC2009-is-Your-Civic-Duty

Since this is a slide show and not a video, you will have to click on the link to view this. So what she is trying to tell me is that this is simply a letter that was meant to go out to her church affiliations, not me, and that they are firm believers in the Constitution as it was created by our Founders.

The disparity comes in when you examine that they seek to right a wrong by correcting the perceived loss of constitutional freedoms.  They also appear to have a true sense that there was an inherent joining of church and state in the name of the ‘c’hristian god that they have determined is the only path to salvation.

Given their coziness with ‘patriot militia’ ideologies, I think my next post will have to be a discussion of the vigilante activity of organized private militias such as the corporation formerly known as “Blackwater” – now known as “Xe”…

And the story continues…

  • Phyllis Schlafly The woman who made a career out of crusading against women who have careers – while leaving her children to be cared by others, while she chastised working mothers for not being home with their children – and made a very handsome living along the way. Can you say hyp-o-crite?
  • Gary Sinise I will never watch CSI again…

  • Mark Steyn “Steyn, a self-styled ‘right-wing bastard,’ violates everyone’s sense of good taste.”  He is a canadian mouth piece that pokes his crass and vulgar opinions into U.S. politics.  For example, he states he is attracted to Sarah Palin’s “naughty librarian vibe”.   TMI!  (Too much information)
  • Fred Thompson Worst DA on Law & Order, and cannot think outside a script…laughable
  • Eduardo Verastegui A Mexican actor (uh-oh Lou Dobbs); anti-choice; anti-gay (and he is so pretty too!); and again – why is he speaking?
  • Don Wildmon Wildmon founded the National Federation for Decency in 1977, and it was renamed the American Family Association in 1988.  Plainly, he is a prude and speaks out against everything and anything he deems offensive such as TV shows like MASH, Three’s Company and Dallas all of yesteryear, Madonna, and on and on.  He was a Methodist Pastor and left the pastoral ministry to campaign against pornography and violence in the media.  Just look at the guy…

And as an added bonus…just to make sure that they stir the FEAR and PARANOIA in the sheeples that attend they are going to have a special preview screening of their movie “33 Minutes”.  I have attached their 2 minute trailer for you…

An event that any red-blooded bigoted, intolerant, rascist, anti-choice, anti-feminist, Poltical Dominionist, End Times believer, born-again evangelical has just got to put on their calendars as a MUST ATTEND!

So when anyone tells you that these extremists aren’t rallying to aggressively take back seats in 2010 and relentlessly pursuit the White House in 2012…you had better tell them to WAKE UP!   This is no joke, even if they are individually….

“Con Con” = Constitutional Convention – need to add this to our Lexicon

Friday, July 17th, 2009

To elaborate on my earlier post today I felt it necessary to explain what the threat of a “Constitutional Convention” actually means to all of us in these United States of America.  This plea by radical “inerrant-bible-thumping” Political Dominionists goes beyond the “Tea Baggers” (I still can’t keep a straight face when I say that).  Of course they fold those extremists into their head count as well…they will “sleep” with anyone for a vote!

Nonetheless, a ConCon based on a tyrannical motive is a serious threat to our freedoms in this country that we need to fight to preserve and protect with a pluralistic and secular thrust.  Just look at the number of organized and well-funded represented groups who attended their March 2009 Jekyll Island, Georgia conclave for what they called the “Jekyll Island Project”

The last Con Con was held in 1787, when every state called to replace the Articles of Confederation with a better system of government.

“The United States Constitution is unusually difficult to amend.  As spelled out in Article V, the Constitution can be amended in one of two ways.  First, amendment can take place by a vote of two-thirds of both the House of Representatives and the Senate followed by a ratification of three-fourths of the various state legislatures (ratification by thirty-eight states would be required to ratify an amendment today).  This first method of amendment is the only one used to date.  Second, the Constitution might be amended by a Convention called for this purpose by two-thirds of the state legislatures, if the Convention’s proposed amendments are later ratified by three-fourths of the state legislatures.” – umkc.com

Fifty-five delegates from every state except Rhode Island gathered in Philadelphia to write a new Constitution. Delegates included George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.  Their product of that convention, the U.S. Constitution, has proven itself for over 220 years.

Since that time we have amended the Constitution, but that very fact, combined with a “biblical law for-one and-all” approach has poured gasoline on the extremist fires.  Those involved in a ConCon movement associated with Political Dominionists groups such as wethepeople.org and givemeliberty.com certainly have a great deal in common with the folks over at the Constitution Party/Alaska Independence Party. By that I mean they are document ‘purists’ and would revert our constitution back to it’s first year wording if given the chance.

These groups and others are actively recruiting delegates from each state for a convention to effect this revision of the rule of land across America.

Alex Bird, (known as “dogemporer” on Daily Kos), my co-researcher and collaborator on my 2nd book, “God’s Own Party? – Keep Your Bible OFF My Ballot!” had this to add about this group’s efforts…

“The calls for ConCons are increasingly coming from groups that
have documented histories of violence (“Christian Patriot” militias,
domestic terror orgs linked with Joel’s Army groups like the Army of
God, and so on).

Dominionist groups, particularly hardline Christian Reconstructionists in “fundamentalist Baptist” circles and the Joel’s Army neopentes, have become increasingly close to
secessionist and frankly terrorist orgs of this sort; also, there’s now
documented cases of churches and entire denominations being
steeplejacked by groups with close ties to domestic terrorism and
secessionism (not just the usual Joel’s Army suspects and their Army of
God/Christian Patriot militia/etc. linkage, but the steeplejack of the
conservative (leaning dominionist) Presbyterian Church of America by
neo-Confederates linked with the secessionist (and Christian
Reconstructionist-dominionist and rabidly racist) League of the South.”

And there is the link that I was heading toward…they are fueled by the Political Dominionists…who as I have said, fuel the anti-tax, anti-diversity, anti-everything.

Check out the Continental Congress, We the People Foundation, and a list of state affiliated organizations that are available on their web sites.  And re-read Yeager’s letter again…it is remarkable.

“Fellow” Christians? For God’s Sake – Who ARE These People?!

There are many ugly sides to researching Political Dominionism – not the least of which is starting my day never knowing what whacko tripe will be in my email in the morning…such as this lovely letter…

You have gotta read it…this is Palin’s ideological base…

Dear Friends of Liberty,

The time has come that we as Christians are at a critical crossroads in America. Due to recent activities of the Obama administration, our accountability to God as a Christian nation weighs heavy in the balance. We are now forced into a situation where we, as Christians, must undeniably choose, which master will we serve.

Please find the important attached document, which I encourage you as Patriots and Christians not only to forward and print, but to present to the members of your church.

In Love and Liberty,

Sandra Yeager

WHO are they?  We had better ALL get to know them and pay attention.  If you think they aren’t gearing up?  Think again!  Here is Yeager’s letter:

Dear Fellow Christians,

It is with a heavy heart and deep concern for our future generations that I am writing this letter.

On March 9, 2009, just six weeks after the Presidential Inauguration, President Obama signed Executive Order 13505 titled, Removing Barriers to Responsible Scientific Research Involving Human Stem Cells. After years of Court appeals and Supreme Court rulings, our President with one stroke of the pen, removed all barriers to scientific research on the brain stem cells of unborn, aborted babies, though it has been argued many times that the same research can be accomplished using the tissue of discarded umbilical cords at the time of birth.

More recently, President Obama has sought to mandate that our tax dollars be used to help fund the genocide of these unborn innocents. Such an act as federally mandated funding for abortion , makes us all equally responsible for the deaths of unborn babies in America, for it is our federal tax dollars that will be funding it. Therefore, by paying our federal taxes, we will be supporting the fund for abortion.

Federally mandated funding for abortions is only one of the major crises that we as Christians are now facing; though this is the one that I believe would bring down the pure wrath of God upon this Christian nation.

I truly believe that in Revelation 12:14, the woman who was carried on the wings of an eagle into the wilderness where she was nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, is symbolic of Christ’s church that found refuge in America. For, no other nation has had the liberty to worship, as we have had.

I truly believe that our founding fathers were inspired by God when they created our founding documents, thus providing a system of government and freedoms like the world had never known, but most importantly providing nurturance and protection to the woman (Christ’s church).

This is only one example of the many continuous abuses our government has committed against our liberties, and in direct violation of our founding documents. So now, we find ourselves as Christians faced with a situation that is ultimately the last straw.

The Holy Bible teaches us to give unto Caesar what is due Caesar, and give unto God that which is God’s.

The Holy Bible also teaches us that we as Christians will not be tempted above what we can bare, but that for every temptation, God will provide for us a way of escape. Thankfully, I believe God is already doing that for us.

In May of this year, the We the People Foundation and twenty-five other liberty minded organizations came together for a three day meeting at Jekyll Island, Georgia. You may view a full list of the Patriot organizations at http://www.jekyllislandproject.com/invitees.aspx . To learn more about the details of this meeting, see www.JekyllIslandProject.com . The purpose of the meeting was to determine what steps could be taken to defend and restore our

founding documents and our liberties, before our nation — our Constitutional Republic – is totally destroyed.

These organizations voted unanimously to promote and support a Continental Congress in November of 2009. Full preparation is underway, as the states organize and prepare for local, regional and national outreach to The People of America. The purpose of Continental Congress 2009 is to bring delegates together who represent The People, to establish before the people, the alarming record of abuses by our government over these past years and the impact of those abuses on our nation. There will be three delegates selected from each state and the District of Columbia, totaling one hundred fifty-three delegates.

CC2009 delegates will specifically review and discuss the facts surrounding escalating violations of the Constitution, each of which has had devastating impacts on our liberty, our economy, and our way of life. Those gathered, before a worldwide viewing audience, via daily live webcasts, will consider the necessary and legal means afforded to The People, via our governing documents, to peacefully hold our servant government accountable for their crimes, and restore our nation to the Founders’ original intent of a Constitutional Republic.

Nominations for delegates to attend the Continental Congress can be made at your state’s website via http://www.givemeliberty.org . In every state, we are seeking our finest citizenswho have a proven passion for the Constitution and want to take this stand now. Perhaps you are one, or know someone who should be there. The deadline for nominations is September 1. Nominees will be posted on the state web pages by September 12.

Elections will be held across the nation on October 10, and Continental Congress will convene November 9-24 in a location to be announced. For more information about Continental Congress 2009, to help fund this event, nominate a delegate or volunteer please visit http://www.givemeliberty.org . We have a position for every citizen who loves America and wants to take a stand for God, liberty and constitutional obedience.

In closing, I ask all true Christians who know our Savior and Mediator, to humble yourselves before God and seek mercy with bitter tears, just as David did, that he might hear the cries of his people and lead us out of Sodom and Gomorrah, as he did for Lot and his family, before the souls of our children are eternally vexed by the sins of this nation. If God be for us, who then, can stand against us?

How many times did we hear the Right slam Obama as nothing more than a “community organizer”?  The evangelical extremists have been proficient and successful at this practice of conveying calls to action since President Obama was in grade school.  This letter is but one method of spreading their messages virally and igniting the millions of congregational members across America who are prompted to action by the propaganda of fear.

This is not a peaceful difference of opinion.  This is an intentional campaign to rally these followers into the frenzy I have so oftern referenced to Sarah Palin.  These are the same crowds and Sheeples.

This organization CC2009 got it’s start in 2001 and is now re-invigorated and ramping up its efforts topromote tyranny.  I cannot stress this loudly enough!  We MUST educate ourselves and those around us.  This is NOT a simple Republican vs Democrat issue.  This is about diffusing all out extremism in America that is equated to the same cult-like devotion to any other radical movement.

This letter alone is going out to thousands of dominionist churches in the United States, and the members in those churches range in the millions.
