Palin Passes the Baton to “Insta-Lame-Duck” Alaska Governor Sean Parnell

Monday, July 27th, 2009

If I were Sean Parnell, and I was sitting there listening to Sarah Palin describing her justification for abandoning her post as governor of the State of Alaska early – I would have been personally insulted and emasculated.

“So, we are here today at a changing of the guard. Now, people who know me, and they know how much I love this state, Buh Bye Palinsome still are choosing not to hear why I made the decision to chart a new course to advance the state. And it should be so obvious to you. (indicating heckler) It is because I love Alaska this much, sir (at heckler) that I feel it is my duty to avoid the unproductive, typical, politics as usual, lame duck session in one’s last year in office. How does that benefit you? No, with this decision now, I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right, for truth. And I have never felt like you need a title to do that.” -  Sarah Palin Farewell Speech July 26th, 2009 Fairbanks, Alaska

But he didn’t…and he won’t.  Sean is a Palin follower and will not man-up.  He has guzzled the dominionist kool-aid.  He is not the most dynamic personality to begin with, I have sat across the table from the man as a lobbyist and know whereof I speak.  Sean is simply and unquestioningly accepting his role, as it is being scripted for him, in their march toward their “Great Commission” mandate.  They are sincere in their belief that the End Times are at hand and that they are “chosen” to play a crucial role in these final days.  Hence, Parnell is simply a foot soldier in God’s Army to Palin’s role as the anointed Queen Esther from the Book of Esther.  I know, sounds wild doesn’t it?  It is…but they have swallowed this hook, line and sinker and will not rest in their quest to fulfil the biblical prophecy (as they interpret it).

Queen Esther PalinA little about Queen Esther: Esther had great wisdom and wise people know that sometimes timing is everything. She could not afford to ruin her one chance to save her people from a certain annihilation. It would be a tragedy of immense proportions. So much depended upon her actions!  Mordecai, earlier in the Book of Esther, had been given a place of power in the kingdom due to his trustworthiness.  The bravery of Esther saved the Jews.  Such is the eminence of Queen Esther, who will be remembered infinitely for the life she led and the role she played in saving her people through love and selfless devotion.

Is Parnell Mordecai?  Who knows…in their world anything can be created as long as they do it in the name of God.  This photo shows Parnell and Palin on stage with their evangelical leader Ed Kalnins of the Assemblies of God Wasilla Bible Church, as they receive guidance and prayer for direction.  (It is more than a bit disturbing that Senator Murkowski is there as well, although as a Catholic I cannot imagine she agrees with their interpretation of theonomy – for she would be thrown under the judgement bus along with the rest of us who are not specifically “born agains”)

Trio at WBC

Soooo…the fact that Sean did not take the microphone after his swearing in, and state with certainty that – contrary to Palin’s speech about the uselessness of the Governor’s office and position (with a mere 18 months remaining) – he would vow not to kowtow to the perceptions of being a “fill-in lame-duck”.  How is it that they deem his appointment as governor more worthwhile after just explaining what a waste of time it would be for Palin to remain?  Hmmm…it’s a conundrum of sorts, doncha think?

‘Speak softly and carry big stick; you will go far.’

…Even though this was made famous by a Republican icon, President Teddy Roosevelt, its meaning seems to fall on deaf ears in the current GOP.  Can you only imagine how horrified TR would be by blowhards like Rush, Coulter, Hannity, O’reilley…et al.  (I am limited to the number of those names that I allow myself to type out in any one sitting for my own preservation)

And for my fellow Alaskans…I can’t omit an observation about failed Attorney General Wayne Anthony Ross, given that he soooo idolizes Teddy R that he has attempted to mold his own appearance – and views himself as TR’s reincarnated twin.  MR. ROSS – YOU SIR, ARE NO TEDDY ROOSEVELT!  NO amount of costume, glasses or guns will put you in the same league as Teddy Roosevelt!  You are the antithesis, more aptly, “Speak bombastically and carry a tiny stick; and you will never progress”. This is a pervasive theme with this personality type that seems to now dominate the Republican Party.  Bullies…

“Bully” in the days of TR was used in much the same way “awesome” is now used and was coined by President Roosevelt, when referencing the American presidency as a “bully pulpit,” by which he meant a terrific platform from which to advocate an agenda.  Roosevelt famously used the word bully as an adjective meaning “superb” or “wonderful”; the term has no relationship to the noun bully, i.e. a harasser or someone who intimidates. “Unfortunately, due to the archaic nature of the adjective “bully” and the religious symbolism of the word pulpit (the elevated platform used by a preacher), this phrase is often misunderstood to imply intimidation and, possibly, an abuse of authority.” Wikipedia

I suppose I can be grateful that they are not ALL attempting to take on the appearance of TR, although that does conjur up some interesting images…hmmm…been meaning to learn photoshop…but I digress.

The mouthpieces for the GOP clearly aren’t big into researching terms and their origins, as we learned recently in the “Teabaggers” uprising on April 15th.  Even minimal effort by Fox News R&D (wait! Is that an oxymoron?) would have saved the never-ending jokes at the expense of uber-conservatives who proudly displayed “I’m a Teabagger” signs in their yards.  Google isn’t new here!

But that kind of “cleverness” by the oh-so-sly like a Fox kinda crowd really thinks that we are going to be suddenly converted to thinking of the extremists in the GOP as having forsaken the agendas of oh, 2 days ago…and applaud them as the more in touch kinder, gentler GOP even though we are staring at the same damn faces!

Yep!  There they are – again!  Palin & McCain…A “New America” hmmm…nope…that is just not working for me.

And how about throwing in a white supremiscist who is proud enough of the offshoot KKK known as CCC (Coo Clucks Clan) that he is photographed with them…sly like a Fox?  NOT SO MUCH!

And then there were THREE?  Please…for the love of GOD! we can’t take another Bush involved in national politics.  Yet, in addition to Jeb, the New America GOP has invited as advisors and consultants several of George W’s crackerjack staff!  WOW! Now isn’t that a refreshing new approach for the GOP?

Again, I have reached my saturation level on being able to list this club roster any further for one day but I think my point is made.  The only thing that is “NEW” about this new re-branded GOP Club, is the name. This is really just a new version of the Council for National Policy, but they tried to be super secret and that has failed so now they are trying this new approach to see if we can tell the difference.

Let’s all watch, shall we?
