I am really attempting to understand. But what confuses me is the outrage and paranoia of those who – 1) clearly hold nothing but disdain for homosexuals; and 2) make claims that if “Hate Crime” legislation passes into law that somehow it is THEM that will subsequently be the victims.
The never-ending “reality-twisting” of the intolerant sectors in our society never ceases to confound me!
HEY! I have some ideas! How about -
***
they STOP making derogatory racial and bigoted slurs against minorities?!
*** they STOP attacking harmless victims for any reason other than the color of their skin and/or their sexuality?
*** they STOP twisting scripture from the pulpit to advance their own personal fears and doubts, and those in their congregation, leading to self-loathing? Maybe then they wouldn’t feel the need to attract others whose self-loathing allows them to get whipped up into violent states of frenzy culminating in attacking those they fear they are most like! (Like…well…Ted Haggard as just ONE example)
*** they STOP judging all others and focus on their own inadequacies as God directed us to do when He commanded that “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matt 12:31 KJV)
Then wouldn’t this deflate the crux of their argument? Honestly…I want to know what their chief complaint would be if these issues were no longer a part of their equation. After all, can someone tell when the last reported incident was of a hate inspired beating against a person exiting a late night prayer group, by a band of roving liberals?
My suspicion? They don’t want these factors eradicated. The most vehement opponents to Hate Crime legislation want to continue discriminating and bashing those that they fear. Fear because they are like them. Fear because they are unlike them. Either way it is a horrific UNChrist-like approach to your “neighbors”. I will close with the wisdom of Ghandi, the epitome of a pacifist…
“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ”. - Ghandi

Isn’t it interesting that Governor Palin expresses such indignant outrage over the anonymity of bloggers who have raised their voices against her? And that because these voices have collaborated effectively to monitor her actions in order to implement damage control, she has come unglued in recent media remarks against them?
Hmmmm….and yet, when I go to conservatives4palin.com I am struck by the number of anonymous blog article contributors there! The most viscous attacks that were levied against my testimony about Ross (I will no longer refer to him here using his initials because that just massages his ego) came from one of her most ardent fanatical bloggers who hides behind the anonymity of “VidomusOmnis” or something to that effect. I have nicknamed him Video to keep it simple.
Once again, hypocrisy at work out of the Palin spin machine. If the issue really is an intolerance of cowardly blogging without bravely coming out into the light and stating ones true identity (her insinuations, not mine)…then I have to ask!
Why isn’t she as dismayed and intolerant of the anonymous bloggers on her own supportive sites?
Wouldn’t that smack more authentically of her expressed outrage – rather than appearing, as it does now, that it is really a tantrum about bloggers who she cannot identify and go after in some way? The lesson I am gathering? If you blog in agreement – then she has no issue with your hidden identity.
But HooBoy! You dare to blog against her? And you are a bunch of cowardly liars! And…How dare you?
(pssst….Sarah…that vote against Ross was almost a week ago! Let it go and move on…I think there are many current issues that need all this energy you are expending taking pot shots at the blogging community! Back to work! Remember, you work for all those people you are attacking…even the heathens!)
