Announcing “God’s Own Party? – Keep Your Bible OFF My Ballot!”
This is becoming a ‘perfect storm’ with regard to the Republican Party’s uncivil war, Palin’s addiction to media attention, the value of my contacts, and my research knowledge on Political Dominionism/Christian Nationalism/New Apostolic Reformationism. I am joined by many remarkable researchers and experts in the field of Political Dominionism in our sense of urgency to ignite a sense of indignation and action in America over what is ocurring.
“God’s Own Party?” provides multiple answers to the question, “What in God’s name is happening to the Republican Party?!” Even Americans who typically have little to no interest in Party politics are getting whiplash from watching the national train wreck of this once perceived pillar of conservatism on the Eve of its 155th birthday, July 6th, 2009. (An excellent Press Release date, by the way).
“God’s Own Party?” answers very specific questions in an exciting chapter called, “The Interviews”, with notable experts in the field of Dominionism/Christian Nationalism such as Frank Schaeffer (Crazy for God); Mikey Weinstein (With God on Our Side); George E. Lowe (It Can Happen Here); Bruce E. Wilson (Talk2Action & Huffington Post) and more
“God’s Own Party?” reveals stunning connections by way of a ‘link chart’ to nationally identifiable personalities who are directly involved in the infestation of the GOP and their relationship with the Political Dominionist Movement. Additionally, it empirically connects each of the GOP’s 2012 presidential hopefuls back to this extreme base.
“God’s Own Party?” ties together a clear call to action for its readers along with a strong appeal to Secular Republicans to regain control of their Party, sending the neopentacostal extremists scurrying in their desperate attempts at “re-branding”, forcing them (and their followers) under someone else’s Big Tent! Something more cleaver than transitioning from the Council on National Policy to the National Council for a New America, retaining the same old faces and ideologies.
“God’s Own Party?” is clearly in the genre of politics, owning a fair piece of the religious category as well. At 60-80,000 words “God’s Own Party?” will have mass appeal to large markets across Party lines, as well as the “People” magazine demographic in large part due to the inclusion of Sarah Palin. An entire Section in this book is devoted to “TheoPalinsm: The Face of Failed Extremism”, featuring Palin, who continues to command inexplicable curiosity nationally and internationally, as evidenced by her very recent multi-million dollar book deal announcement with HarperCollins and Zondervan, a Christian Publishing Company.
I am uniquely qualified to write this story as; 1) a multi-generational Alaskan and former lobbyist; 2) I have maintained political and media ties within Alaska; 3) I am currently an Associate member of the New Apostolic Reformation Research Team (NARRT); 4) I have media access in the lower 48 such as Shannyn Moore (Huffington Post), Max Blumenthal (The Daily Beast), Alex Bird (The Daily Kos),Thom Hartmann (Air America Radio), Rachel Maddow (MSNBC), Keith Olbermann (MSNBC); and 5) I grew up as witness in earlier years at “ground zero” for the Christian Nationalist Movement in the very area targeted most intensely by Dominionist operatives, Alaska – and observed the pilgrimage of neopentacostals to Alaska beginning in the mid 1960’s.
“Once the Dominionists began targeting the Alaska Legislature, Burton had a unique “on the ground” perspective that rivaled that of others given her lifelong exposure to the various facets of Dominionist migration to Alaska. Very few of the people who are writing on this have personal experience with the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR)/Joel’s Army groups or, particularly, the NAR in Alaska or Alaskan politics. A major WIN is that Burton has been on the ground and witnessed the changes as they were occurring.”
-Senior Research Colleague Alex Bird, NARRT
I could not be more committed to getting this book into the hands of mainstream America with the goal of inspiring open discussion about the threat of losing our democracy to a theocracy. It has truly become the most important lobbying job I will ever have.
In the words of author Frank Schaefer (Crazy for God and co-architect of the Religious Right), “Leah: Absolutely, send your manuscript… so do your work as fast as is possible to do it right. Best, Frank”.
